Moonstone & Mist Bookshop takes pride in supporting local and self-published authors. The details of our local and self-published author consignment program are below.

Consignment Program:

●     Rather than Moonstone & Mist Bookshop purchasing merchandise from Consignors directly, merchandise is sold on consignment, and the Consignor receives payment on the first of the month following the month in which the merchandise was sold.

●     Moonstone & Mist Bookshop keeps 40% of the pre-tax sale price and the Consignor receives 60% of the pre-tax sale price. Moonstone & Mist Bookshop is responsible for paying the sales tax to the government.

●     Payment is delivered to the Consignor via Zelle.

●     Each month, Moonstone & Mist Bookshop provides the Consignor with a sales report via email.

●     Shelf space in my tiny shop and storage space in my basement is limited. The Consignor would deliver up to ten pieces of merchandise to Moonstone & Mist Bookshop at the Consignor’s expense.

●     Moonstone & Mist Bookshop carries the merchandise for six months. If the merchandise is selling, the agreement is eligible to continue for an additional six months on the same terms. If the merchandise is not selling, all remaining merchandise is returned to the Consignor at Moonstone & Mist Bookshop’s expense.

●     The Consignor is responsible for providing the text for a brief (2-3 sentence) shelf talker and social media post.

●     Moonstone & Mist Bookshop will feature the merchandise in a social media post during the first month and fourth month of the six-month term.

●     The Consignor will feature Moonstone & Mist Bookshop in a social media post during the first month and the fourth month.

●     Moonstone & Mist Bookshop may request to review an advanced copy of the merchandise to review prior to executing an agreement.
